PINES SPEEDWAY REUNION |

It was rainy, cold and windy, but this did not stop the crowd as they poured into the Pines Speedway Reunion on October 3rd to celebrate the 7th Annual Pines Speedway Reunion in Groveland, Ma, at the site of the former track. Under the large white tent were special exhibits, vintage photos, scrapbooks and memorabilia of the Pines Speedway. This years honorees were 1963 Champion Bentley Warren, 1960 Champion Archie Archambault, and 5 time Class C champion Bob Bixby. This would be the last stop for the Star Tour for the 2009 season. On hand to represent Star was Dwight Lowes #50 coupe, Tammy Barboza #10 Pinto, Howard Coombs #64 coupe, Roger Bowlby #1/4 coupe, and Richard Eastman #0 Pinto. The afternoon festivities closed with the annual starting of the engines as a tribute to the Pines Speedway. |
