Senior Tour Auto Racers

On June 7th Bezema Buick of Norwood, Ma held the 11th annual Norwood Arena Speedway Reunion.

Norwood Arena Speedway, Norwood, MA was the fastest 1/4 Mile NASCAR stock car racing track in the 1960's.
Norwood Arena Speedway featured midget and sports car racing, stock car racing, drag racing and other sporting events from 1948 through 1972 when Norwood Arena Speedway closed at the end of stock car racing season.

Fans who attended saw vintage race cars, oval and drag, as well as hot rods, muscle cars, classic cars and motorcycles.  There were trophies awarded to the top three in those four categories.  Fans also enjoyed scrapbooks, photos and other collectibles that was on display. This event is always an opportunity to get autographs as many of the Norwood Arena Speedway and New England Dragway South turnout every year for this event. You could meet all of those drivers and talk racing.  As in past years, the Bezema family provided a light lunch.

DJ Jay was also on hand to provide some great music of the 50's, 60's and 70's era.

On hand to represent STAR was President Charlie Lima with his 2X coupe and Board of Director Ed Mulligan with his 61 Pinto. Also on hand was STAR member John McMillan with his beautiful 1983 Lincoln Continental. STAR was proud as Ed Mulligan accepted the 2nd place trophy for Vintage Race Cars and Charlie Lima accepted 3rd place.  It was a great time had by all.

STAR would like to thank Bezema Buick and Lou Modestino for a great time!
