DAVID POSKITT

 1938 - 2013

Senior Tour is sadden by the loss of member David E. Poskitt.  David passed away on 4/9/2013 after a short battle with cancer.

David was a very active member with Star for many years.  You could see him at still shows, special shows and at the tracks 

with his 1937 Chevy coupe #77 originally driven by Les Hinkley.  A kind gentlemen with a joke and a prank at the tracks.  

Always laughing and having a good time.  We at Star will miss this colorful gentlemen.

 

David E. Poskitt, 75, a resident of Norton for the past 48 years, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Veterans Administration

Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. He was the husband of Jean P. (Beane) Poskitt for 51 years.

Born in Boston on March 17, 1938, a son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Chamberlain) Poskitt, he was raised and educated in

Westboro. A veteran of the US Army, he served as a Private first class during the Korean War. David worked as a

self-employed construction truck driver.

His passion was racing modified cars at various New England Race tracks including Seekonk Speedway and Thompson

Speedway in Connecticut. He was a member of STAR-Senior Tour Auto Racing.

In addition to his wife he is survived three adult children, Dennis Poskitt of Stoughton, Diane Poskitt of Stoughton and Wesley

Poskitt of Raynham; two brothers. Thomas Poskitt of KY and Robert Poskitt of DE; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie,

Amanda, Nathan and Amber; and two great grandchildren, Jasmine and Liliann. He was also the father of the late David Poskitt.
