Senior Tour is sadden by the loss of member David E. Poskitt. David passed away on 4/9/2013 after a short battle with cancer. | David was a very active member with Star for many years. You could see him at still shows, special shows and at the tracks | with his 1937 Chevy coupe #77 originally driven by Les Hinkley. A kind gentlemen with a joke and a prank at the tracks. | Always laughing and having a good time. We at Star will miss this colorful gentlemen. | | David E. Poskitt, 75, a resident of Norton for the past 48 years, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Veterans Administration | Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. He was the husband of Jean P. (Beane) Poskitt for 51 years. | Born in Boston on March 17, 1938, a son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Chamberlain) Poskitt, he was raised and educated in | Westboro. A veteran of the US Army, he served as a Private first class during the Korean War. David worked as a | self-employed construction truck driver. | His passion was racing modified cars at various New England Race tracks including Seekonk Speedway and Thompson | Speedway in Connecticut. He was a member of STAR-Senior Tour Auto Racing. | In addition to his wife he is survived three adult children, Dennis Poskitt of Stoughton, Diane Poskitt of Stoughton and Wesley | Poskitt of Raynham; two brothers. Thomas Poskitt of KY and Robert Poskitt of DE; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, | Amanda, Nathan and Amber; and two great grandchildren, Jasmine and Liliann. He was also the father of the late David Poskitt. |
